| Quiche Grandma E 6 Slices Bacon 1 Cup Diced Onion 1 Cup mushrooms (Sliced or Whole) Dash Pepper and Salt 3 Eggs 1 9in Unbaked Pie Shell 4oz Cheddar Cheese 4oz Jack Cheese 4oz Swiss Cheese |
Cook Bacon until crisp and set aside still in bacon grease. Cook onion and mushrooms until tender. Slightly beat eggs. Grate cheeses, crumble bacon and put into pie shell, put in mushrooms and onions. Sprinkle grated cheese over bacon, pour eggs over mixture. Bake in a preheated oven at 375 for 25 minutes or until a knife comes out clean. Do Not Use A Deep Dish Pie Pan! |
| Chicken A La King Grandma W. 1 Cube Butter ½ Cup Flower 1 Tsp Salt 1 Cup Milk 1 Cup ½ and ½ 1 Cup Chicken Stock ½ Lb Cooked Chicken Cut into Peaces 1/4Lb Sautéed Mushrooms |
Melt the butter in the top of a double broiler. Blend in flower and salt. Heat until slightly thickened. Slowly add milk, ½ and ½ and chicken stock. Cook thoroughly add chicken meat and mushrooms. Mixture will be slightly thick. Serve in pastry shells. |
| Meat Loaf 2lb Ground Round ½ cup Warm Water 2 Eggs 1 ½ Cup Bread Crumbs ¾ Cup Ketchup 1 Pkg Lipton Onion Soup Mix 3 Bacon Strips 1 8oz Can Tomato Sauce |
Mix first 6 ingredients together and put in a loaf pan. Cover with bacon and poor tomato sauce over top. Cook for one hour at 350 degrees. |
| Kung Pow Chicken 1 Lb Boneless Chicken Breast Skinned and Cut into Small Cubes or strips 1 T Finely Grated Fresh Ginger 2 Cloves Garlic Minced 3 Scallions or onions sliced 2 Ribs Celery 1 Bell Pepper Sliced 2 T Sherry 2 T Soy Sauce 1 Tsp Sesame Oil (lightly untoasted) 1 T Cornstarch 1 ½ t Sugar 1/3 Crushed Red Pepper Flakes 1 T oil Divided ¼ Cup Peanuts |
Organize you ingredients in separate bowls. Sherry, Soy Sauce and (1t) Sesame oil, cornstarch sugar and pepper in another small bowl Heat ½ the oil in a non stick pan and add the chicken and cook over high medium heat until white all the way though, about 5-10 minutes. Remove onto a plate. Add Remaining oil and add the veggies and cook for about 3 minutes. Pour in the sherry mixture and return chicken to pan stir in the peanuts. Cook until sauce thickens. You can serve with white rice and veggies. |
| 90 Minute Dinner Rolls 2-2 1/2 c. Unsifted Flower 2 T Sugar 1Pkg Active Dry Yeast 1/2 t. Salt 1/4 C Water 1/2 C Milk 2 T Margrine |
Mix 3/4c flower, sugar, salt and undissolved yeast. Heat milk, water, margrine to 120-130F. Gradually add to dry ingredents and beat 2 minutes at med speed of mixer. Ad 1/4 cup flower. Beat at high speed 2 minutes. Stir in enought aditional flower to make soft dough. On flowered surface kneed 2-3 minutes, devide dough into 12 parts. Shape into balls and place in a greased 8in round pan. Pour 1" depth of boiling water into a large pan on bottom rack in oven. Set rolls on rack above water and cover. Close door and let rise30 minutes. Uncover rolls and remove water. Turn oven on to 375 and bake for 20-25minutes or untill done. |
